Part 3 – Finishing the card
We regret that the Spirella wheel used in this demonstration has been discontinued by the manufacturer. However the general technique can be applied to most other Spirella wheels.
Select a Spirella shape.
Number the slots on the back of the Spirella shape.
Secure an end of one of the DMC metallic threads on the back of the Spirella shape with adhesive tape.
Take the thread through spoke number 1 and across the front of the shape. Return it to the back through spoke number 14. Pull the thread across the back and through spoke number 2. Continue to work around the shape, moving forward by one spoke each time.
The pattern is progressed one spoke at a time.
Continue until you have completed the full circle. Secure the end of the thread on the back with adhesive tape.
Start again with the other colour of thread. Tape one end to the back of the shape. Take the thread through spoke number 1, across the front, and return through spoke number 9. Pull the thread across the back and through spoke number 2. Work around the shape moving forward by one spoke at a time.
Continue until you have completed the full circle. Secure the end of the thread on the back with adhesive tape.
